The judge will select the number of gilts he or she thinks should make the sale from each breed. Judge-selected gilts do not guarantee participation in the sale. After each show day, a list reflecting the judge’s opinion will be shared with exhibitors.
Sale Structure:
· Required Lots: The champion and reserve champion gilt of each breed, along with the division champions and reserves of the Dark Crossbred gilts (26 total), are required to sell and are not eligible for the opt-out option.
· Opt-Out Option Fee: All other judge-selected gilts exhibitors may elect to withdraw their gilt from sale contention by paying a $500 opt-out fee, before the conclusion of the supreme drive on Saturday, February 13th.
o If the opt-out fee is not received by the deadline, the exhibitor will remain eligible to participate in the sale.
· Once the show is complete, an official sale order will be posted. All gilts in the official sale order must sell – no exceptions.
